As we head into the last part of 2018, there is still plenty of time to head off on an exciting day trips in Perth from Casey Tours. Here are some of the upcoming events and festivities:
Meckering Earthquake Anniversary
This 50th Anniversary commemorative day will be a full of activities and entertainment for the whole family. Popular ABC radio presenter Di Darmody, is the MC for the day, which commences at 10.30am. 10.59am was the time the earthquake struck the town and a moment of reflection to will be held. Take a site tour out to the earthquake ruins and fault line and hear firsthand accounts of the earthquake from local residents. The newly revamped earthquake walk trail, will be open to visitors all day. There will also be musical entertainment by Chelsea Basham and the Meckering School Students.
Beverley Rose Show
Travel through the Mundaring State Forrest to the picturesque town of Beverley for their annual Rose show. The day is held within the town hall and features colourful displays from the tree and garden club, RSL and many other local vendors. After a visit to the show, we take a short drive to Brookton for a hotel lunch before winding our way back to Perth.
Western Rock Lobster
The Indian Ocean Rock Lobster company is a fun place to visit. Tour the facility and get a sneak peek inside this multimillion dollar lobster industry. Take a tour of the processing plant, see how the lobsters are caught, bought to shore, sorted and then packaged. After the tour, sample the produce and spend some time enjoying the shore of the Indian Ocean in this stunning part of WA.
Reynoldson Reserve Festival – Wongan Hills
Verticordia is a genus of more than 100 species of wildflowers, known as feather flowers. They are mostly woody shrubs up to 2.0 m tall, with feathery flowers. The Reynoldson Reserve Festival celebrates all things Verticordia at the end of October. Traditionally this is when the flowers are in full bloom, and visitors flock to the reserve to experience these gorgeous blooms. The town puts on a show, with market stalls, entertainment, food and local wares on display.
End of Year Christmas Mystery Tour
As we round off another year, it is great to get together with likeminded travellers and enjoy a lovely Christmas luncheon. Share stories from the year, catch up with friends and even meet the man in the red suit.
