Itinerary Details
Day 1
(MD, Motel) Along the coast to Bunbury and a visit to the Dolphin Discovery Centre on the shore of Koombana Bay, time to wander the Discovery Centre to understand the ecosystem of this bay and oceans around the world. While here we hope for the wild Dolphins to swim into the Interaction Zone to get a closer look. Lunch in Bunbury before a visit to the Featured Wood Gallery and Museum displaying fine art and history in one display. Down to Abbey Beach for the next three nights. Note; Dolphin Discovery Centre & Wood Gallery included.
Day 2
(FB, MD, Motel) To Dunsborough, this quaint fishing town has gone through extensive development over the last few years but still retains its casual charm. Following the coast south between the capes we pop into the spectacular rocky beaches and famous surf breaks before reaching Margaret River for lunch. In the afternoon we visit Eagles Heritage, a Raptor Wildlife Centre for a flying display from some of these striking birds. On the way home, we visit Margaret River Cheese Company and the Margaret River Chocolate Factory.
Day 3
(FB, RD, Motel) A morning visit to the Busselton Jetty and Underwater Observation Deck before lunch in Busselton among the galleries, shops and cafes. In the afternoon we visit the National Trust maintained Wonnerup House nestled between the Tuart forest and the Vasse Estuary. Return to Abbey Beach for our last night. Note: Jetty Tram, Underwater Observatory & Wonnerup entries included.
Day 4
(FB) Out to Donnybrook, one of WA’s largest stone fruit growing regions to stock up on seasonal fruits before heading to Gnomesville, an abundant collection of gnomes spreading hundreds of metres through the roadside reserve. Returning to Perth along the South West Highway through the Jarrah forest and Bauxite mining towns.
