MEALS

Day 1

(MD, Motel) We depart Perth and travel along Albany Highway with a morning tea stop in Williams, before continuing to Kojonup for lunch and a visit to Kodja Place which depicts Australian country life from various perspectives. Travelling through Mt Barker we visit the Mt Romance Sandalwood Factory Showroom before reaching Albany to settle in for three nights. Note: Kodja Place included.

Day 2

(FB, MD, Motel) This morning is about the natural wonders of Albany. We travel south to the rugged southern coastline of Torndirrup peninsula where limestone cliffs, granite headlands and white sandy beaches bear the full force of the powerful Southern Ocean. We visit the recently redeveloped Gap and Natural Bridge lookouts before travelling back to town for lunch. This afternoon we remember the 41,000 ANZAC troops who departed from Albany for the Great War as we visit the National ANZAC Centre unveiled during centenary celebrations in 2014. Note: National Park & ANZAC Centre Entry Fees included.

Day 3

(FB, RD, Motel) Spending the day in and around WA’s old settlement to celebrate WA Day, the displays and attractions are centred on the foreshore of Princess Royal Harbour, the Old Gaol, Brig Amity & Museum of the Great Southern. In the afternoon we take a drive through the farms and bushland to appreciate the countryside. Tonight we enjoy a meal at one of WA’s oldest pubs to round out the celebrations.

Day 4

(FB) We depart Albany and travel through the Stirling Range National Park meandering to Katanning which received Royalties for Regions support to develop the town and region over the last few years. Stopping in on the Big Ram in Wagin we return to Perth after a delightful visit to the Great Southern celebrating our great state.
