Itinerary Details

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Day 1

(MD, Motel) Departing Perth out to York for morning tea, then following one of the original routes from Perth to Albany, the Great Southern Railway that ran from Albany to Beverley. South through Narrogin, Wagin and Katanning before reaching Albany for three nights.

Day 2

(FB, MD, Motel) A delightful drive west through the forest to Walpole, then an informative and entertaining cruise on the Walpole and Nornalup Inlets discussing the geology, ecology and history of this amazing estuary. Lunch in town before a walk along the elevated platform amongst the massive Tinglewood Trees of the Valley of the Giants. Return to Albany via Denmark. Note: Boat Cruise and Tree Top Walk included.

Day 3

 (FB, MD, Motel) Out to Torndirrup National Park to view the recently redeveloped Gap & Natural Bridge. Visit Albany Regional Wildflower Garden, Australian Wildlife Park and Albany’s Historic Whaling Station. Cheynes Beach Whaling Company was the last whaling company to cease operations in Australia, closing in 1978. The display includes an intact whale processing factory, whale chasing ship and 3D displays. Note: Tondirrup and Wildflower, Wildlife and Whaling Station Entry Included.

Day 4

(FB) Up Mount Clarence to tour the National ANZAC Centre at Princess Royal Fort overlooking King George Sound. We return to Albany for lunch and have free time in town. Heading up Albany Highway through Mount Barker, Kojonup and Williams. Returning to Perth after a great tour with a diverse range of Great Southern attractions.
